Projekt tagok: Kárpáti Fanni, Lőcsei Gergely, Nagy Enikő
The aim of the project was to describe and analyze a new ground handling service concept. The new concept allows continuous operation of ground handling services. While during existing process the aircraft is standing on an appointed standing position, occupy a gate during the whole procedure and service is carried out around the aircraft, in the new concept the aircraft is moving through a production line with fixed service points. The main desired aim of the reorganization is to handle more aircrafts in an hour, use less equipment and staff, and reduce CO2 emission of airports.
During the project work, the followings were presented in detail:
• description of the existing ground handling system,
• determination of step by step service in current aircraft ground service chain,
• exploration of the disadvantages and risks of current system,
• development of a new conception of ground services,
• description of step by step service of new conception,
• design and layout of new conception production line – drawings were produced by architect students,
• analysis of the advantages/disadvantages of new concept in the airlines’, ground handling companies/airports’ and passengers’ point of view.
The report was mainly focused on investigating the possibility of a new service line. With layouts and drawings, the idea of a future airport was presented. Pre-concept of new ground service system now is available for further researches.
