Hatékony folyamátvitel interneten keresztül

In this paper we present a performance evaluation study of different transport protocols to reveal their efficiency regarding the transfer of different flows. The current versions of \emph{Transmission Control Protocol} (TCP) are compared to \emph{Digital Fountain based Communication Protocol} (DFCP), which is our newly developed transport protocol where congestion control is not applied, but Raptor code based erasure coding scheme is used to recover lost packets. Our results demonstrate that both short-lived flows (web objects) and long-lived flows (DVD objects) can be transferred more efficiently by DFCP than by TCPs.
The results are published in [1].
