Energy Effective Radio Network Planning Including Multi RAT Perspective
The optimal base station placement and effective radio resource management are of paramount importance tasks in cellular wireless networks. This paper presents a radio network planning method focused on multi RAT (Radio Access Technology) structure and takes into account the energy efficiency as an optimization criterion. A city scenario with different demands is examined and the advantages/disadvantages of this method are discussed. Besides network planning the cooperation of different standards is the primary goal of the presented procedure. The performance of proposed method is discussed by showing numerical results, as well as the advantages and shortcomings of this approach are presented.
