The system consists of monitors, services, infrastructure configurators (IC) and measurement descriptors. Each measurement has a descriptor yaml file (called measurement descriptor), which includes the list of services (that we like to examine), monitors (tools which collects the service and infrastructure characteristics during the measurement), and ICs (tools which manipulate the characteristics of the network and other infrastructure affecting the quality of service) for the execution. A measurement includes multiple periods, during which the infrastructure characteristics could change, e.g., different packet sending and receiving latencies in each period. In each period, the determined ICs from the measurement descriptor file perform the modifications on the network. Currently supported services – that we measure – includes 1) video conference, 2) Selenium based automated browsing, 3) ping a remote server and 4) traffic generation at the maximum throughput of the device. The used monitors – radio parameters, tcpdump, spindump etc. – collect the characteristics, i.e., they generate the output data for further analysis and model training.
